  As well as telling the story of the history of Philippolis, this museum is claimed to be the only museum in the country licensed to distill and sell liquor -- Philippolis witblits, which is a feature of the annual Witblits Festival in April. The museum’s specialist exhibits include those on Griqua history, the work of the London Missionary Society and the weaving and other equipment introduced to the ladies of the town by Emily Hobhouse in the early 1900s.
